Spray Foam Magazine – Spring 2021 – After a year of living with the pandemic restrictions, it is exciting to look ahead and plan on exploring San Antonio. Use the www.visitsanantonio.com website to start planning your trip. The convention and expo will fill your days, but there is still time to have fun filled evenings along the Riverwalk and in downtown San Antonio. You can even squeeze in a history lesson with a trip to the Alamo.

SPFA staff and volunteers have started planning the convention and expo. The work will gear up in the coming months. Within the next 6-8 weeks, the Request to Speak will be available for industry professionals who are interested in offering breakout sessions. In recent years, nearly three dozen breakout sessions have been held during a Sprayfoam convention so there are plenty of opportunities to participate.

Education is a key element of the event and the breakouts were just one component in addition to keynote speeches, exhibit hall education stage presentations and PCP courses.

The overall convention activities span a four-day period, and the days are filled from dawn to dusk with activities, events, and sessions of interest to the entire SPF Industry. The Conference Planning Committee, under the leadership of Chair Denny Vandewater (Conklin), will evaluate session content, conference schedule while maximizing the lovely venue with innovative ways to engage the attendees so that everyone gets the most from their experience.

The pre-convention days, Monday-Tuesday, February 28-29, will showcase SPFA Professional Certification Program Exam Prep Courses. We also anticipate the return of PCP Field Exams in the parking lot adjacent to the Convention Center. PCP Written Exams will be offered daily from Monday-Thursday. It is a great opportunity to use the resources SPFA provides and take home some new credentials.

Traditionally SFWW has held its kick-off party the night before the Sprayfoam Show opens, and after a successful Outreach Event with SFWW last month, we hope to continue that relationship in a mutually beneficial way.

Although the Sprayfoam convention is rich in tradition, it is also going to evolve and embrace the NEW SPFA. There will be exciting announcements, invigorating presentations, fun networking opportunities and ample time for suppliers and contractors to see each other face to face after a long hiatus.

Frankly, we were hesitant to get our hopes up and start planning too soon, but now that we are seeing light at the end of the dark tunnel brought on by the pandemic, we are optimistic about what the future holds.
