Spray Foam Magazine – Show 2026 – Clark Spray Foam launched as a family-owned and operated insulation company and began operations in 2020, at the beginning of COVID. They are based in Jacksonville and service St. Augustine, Fernandina, and the Ponte Vedra area.

At a time when many companies were closing, and the world in general looked grim, Michael grew his business to a multimillion-dollar company. “We are known in our community for providing great service and products, and we have gone viral on social media. We also give back to our community, supporting several local and global causes,” confirms Michael.

Prior to working with SPF, Michael was a potato farmer in Michigan. While working as a farmer, he noticed that the potato storage facility was insulated with SPF, which piqued his interest in the insulation.

Michael relocated to Florida but pursued his SPF business idea, saving up $70k to buy his first rig. “I had no money to my name and went for it. We now have a second rig, and we just added a blown-in rig too. The two spray rigs are PMC-PH2 rigs and are fully enclosed 9 x 18 trailers. I like to spray Natural Polymers and NCFI foam.”

Michael is constantly looking for ways to improve and grow his business and currently holds a USA High-Pressure SPF-Safety certification, and he wants to expand his skills in concrete lifting. He now has an office at the beach, an office manager, and a rental office. He also recently hired a sales guy and is training him in all things foam. “I have a hard time trusting people. I think it’s due to growing up in a single-parent family. I soon learned I needed to put my faith in others to help me push my business forward,” explains Michael.

Clark Spray Foam started off with word-of-mouth referrals, then Google ads, but the real break and best job leads came when Michael made a reel that went viral, with his personal account gaining 50k followers from that reel alone. Michael realized he was onto something and made sure to infuse more entertainment into his social media. “It’s a way of making the job fun again. Many people hold back, worried about what others will think. I have no issue with that and just went for it. I’ve found that people like and trust confidence, but without arrogance,” says Michael.

The commercial projects soon came flooding in including the convention center in Jacksonville, the minor league baseball stadium, historical churches, local bars and music venues, large warehouses for large national companies, military contracts, and too many fast-food restaurants to count.

“I thank Jesus and my church, and Facebook and Instagram for all these commercial projects. Throwing the brand out there and sponsoring things like a surf competition and nonprofits through the church has seen great results. I feel truly blessed.”

Outside of work, Michael and his family are active in their church and enjoy road trips in their converted school bus, as well as boating and fishing. Family and faith drive Michael to succeed. “We hope to grow the business to run itself and move to the Islands in five years,” Michael confirms.

Congratulations to Michael for being named Spray Foam Magazine’s 2025 Contractor of the Year Second Runner-Up.
