From Race Cars to Spray Foam Rigs: The Story of a New York Spray Foam Manufacturing Company

WEST WINFIELD, NY – July 1, 2011 – “Built by the Sprayer for the Sprayer.” These are the words the people at Christian Fabrication have stood by for over four years as a spray foam rig and equipment supplier. Billy Gibson, a public relations representative from Christian Fabrication, speaks with SprayFoam.com about the origins of the company.
Situated in central New York, Christian Fabrication better known as “Christian Fab” first began manufacturing in the early 1990s. “The company was originally started as a supplier and builder of race cars and racing equipment,” said Gibson. “We worked with a lot of professional racers and hobbyists manufacturing race car chassis.” As the years progressed, the race car industry began slowly declining and business for Christian Fab began to slow down. Jamie Christian, current owner of the company, saw an opportunity with the growth of the spray foam industry and in 2004 opened his own spray foam insulation company, Upstate Spray Foam Insulation, in West Winfield, NY.
“With his interest in the spray foam industry, the growing demand for spray foam equipment and with the start up of Upstate Spray Foam insulation, Jamie was able to slowly shift Christian Fab from manufacturing racecar chassis’ to manufacturing spray foam rigs and equipment,” said Gibson.
In 2007, Christian and Christian Fab began officially manufacturing spray foam equipment working with clients up and down the east coast of the United States. Gibson further added, “We are currently working with people all over the east coast. We have worked with people as far north as Canada and as far south as Georgia.”
The manufacturing and customization of rigs is one of the many spray foam equipment offered to customers by Christian Fabrication. “We saw there was a market for building rigs,” said Gibson. “Our rigs are built from the ground up to meet the customer’s exact needs. Additionally, with our background in the spray foam industry – we pride ourselves in designing a rig not just for dependability, but for functionality and ease of use. We offer something most rig manufacturers can’t: advice and insight on true in-field conditions.” Christian Fab is currently offering three fully customizable spray rigs from a truck-based rig to two trailer versions.
Christian Fabrication today still constructs chassis’ for racecars but only for a small client base. “We still have the racing aspect of our company,” said Gibson. “But the spray foam industry has become our primary objective.” As business continues to grow, Jamie Christian and the rest of his company are looking forward to a banner year by the end of 2011.
“Our sales are up and the customer list continues to grow,” said Jeff Maine, Christian Fabrication’s primary salesperson. “We also just recently launched our online store which allows customers to purchase all the equipement they need anytime and anywhere.”
Chrsitian Fabrication ships Graco parts nationwide and is also a distributor for CertainTeed Certa-Spray Foam.
