Star Illuminates Sprayfoam 2015

ALBUQUERQUE, NM–January 29, 2015–Perhaps no event captures the industry’s attention like the Sprayfoam Convention & Expo, and that trend has continued in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Sprayfoam 2015 has taken over the Albuquerque Convention Center, located in the heart of downtown. Contractors and suppliers form across the country have converged in the city’s high desert locale, which is over a mile above sea level. While temperatures in Albuquerque have been mild-to-chilly, the climate has been a welcome respite from the blizzard conditions pummeling the Northeastern U.S.

Leading up to the show, Sprayfoam 2015 was touted as the industry’s biggest event yet, boasting the largest-ever slate of breakout sessions and the potential to break attendance records. While the results are still out at this point, all signs have indicated an event for the ages.

Adding to the significance was the Expo, which was opened to the general public for the fist time ever. In his morning address to convention attendees, SPFA Executive Director Kurt Riesenberg commented on the decision to include the public, explaining that it just made sense to allow home and building owners interested in spray foam to explore the trade show floor and learn about SPF directly from exhibitors.

Following Riesenberg in the General Session, SPFA President Dennis Vandewater delivered a powerful message about reflecting on the past. Additionally, Dr. George Thompson had an informative presentation comparing scientific and “pseudo-scientific” assessments of risk, and how the latter can be detrimentalf to spray polyurethane foam.

Perhaps the biggest draw for Sprayfoam 2015 has been Keynote Speaker Ty Pennington. The widely-known TV personality began his engagement with the show in an exclusive meet-and-greet event on the 27th, wherein Pennington mixed and mingled with SPFA Executive Committee members, Sprayfoam 2015 Sponsors, and their guests. The following morning, Pennington brought the General Session to a close with a detailed talk about his past as a carpenter, his transition into television, and his experiences on programs like Trading Spaces and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. With an additional appearance at the 10th Annual Contractor Industry Excellence Awards Luncheon, Pennington brought a level of excitement to the Sprayfoam 2015 that not only elevated the show, but the entire industry.
