October 2009 – International Fireproof Technology, Inc. is reaching out to ALL foam manufacturers in the spirit of collaboration for the good of the Polyurethane Foam Industry, on running certified UL 1715 testing of their Polyurethane Spray Foams.

Gary Wolfe Executive Vice President of IFTI states, “Our DC 315 offers the foam industry an economical and practical option for its applicators and contractors to comply with ICCES requirements of a ‘15 minute thermal barrier’.   We are offering Foam Manufactures an opportunity to partner up with us on running UL 1715 testing on their foam.  It is all of our responsibility to make sure that the applicators and contractors who apply foam are using code compliant solutions on their foam of choice.”

Wolfe states that IFTI has already shown the versatility of DC 315 by passing two brands of foam to date.  IFTI is willing to use its extensive laboratory and resources to develop custom blends, do indicative pre-testing that is specifically targeted to the foam manufacturers formula at no charge to the foam manufacturers.

Richard Guarnieri, IFT Vice President of Operations states “Our goal is to develop for every foam manufacturer in the  industry a Intumescent Water Based Latex Paint option of the DC 315 so they can be sure that their applicators and contractors can take advantage of our economical and code compliant solution to ‘15 Thermal Barrier’ protection of its foam.  We have been contacted by many companies since passing the test.  It is great to see so many foam manufacturers that share our desire to educate the market place and help rid the industry of companies that make a living selling products that do not meet the UL 1715 or compatible standards.”
