SPFA Safety Committee Releases Bi-Lingual Jobsite Safety Signs for Members

FAIRFAX, VA – December 5, 2013 – The SPFA Safety Committee has recently developed two new bi-lingual (English and Spanish) jobsite safety signs, exclusively for SPFA Contractor Members. The 8.5" x 11" full-color signs, available as PDF file downloads from the members-only section of the SPFA website, can be printed and posted at all SPF jobsites.
These signs, reviewed by several federal agencies, meet OSHA requirements for hazard communication, using the new HCIS symbols and meet safety sign standards per ANSI Z535.
The first sign is a 'Do Not Enter' sign for posting around the spray zone during and just after foam installation to prevent entry by those not wearing appropriate PPE. The second is a 'Fire Warning' sign which should be posted after installation but before approved thermal and ignition barriers are installed over the foam to help prevent accidental foam ignition during hot work.
About the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance: Originally founded in 1987 as the Polyurethane Foam Contractors Division, the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) is the voice, along with the educational and technical resource, for the spray polyurethane foam industry. The SPFA's experienced staff and member-comprised committees provide a wide variety of services to the industry. The SPFA develops tools designed to educate and influence the construction industry with the positive benefits of spray polyurethane foam roofing, insulation, and climate control systems. Although the SPFA is a completely independent trade association, it has a strong relationship with the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and the Center for Polyurethanes Industry (CPI). These groups have assisted the SPFA to better serve the spray polyurethane foam industry's business needs on local and statewide issues.
