SEALECTION Agribalance® Spray Foam Insulation Recognized as Sustainable Building Product

Arlington, TX - SEALECTION Agribalance®, manufactured by DEMILEC (USA) LLC®, has received the Verification of Attributes Report (VAR-1006) from ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) in accordance to the Sustainable Attributes Verification Evaluation (SAVE™) Program, providing confirmation that SEALECTION Agribalance® contains 10% bio-based material content, making it the product with the most bio-based material content of any spray foam insulation tested to date.

The Sustainable Attributes Verification and Evaluation™ Program (SAVE™) is a new program created by ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) to provide reliable information about claims made by manufacturers of sustainable products. SAVE™, a voluntary program, provides manufacturers the opportunity to have their products evaluated by ICC-ES. The evaluation, based on guidelines for sustainability, includes inspection of the manufacturer’s production process and product testing at recognized laboratories, where applicable. The end result is a Verification of Attributes Report™ (VAR™), which provides technically accurate product information that can be helpful to those seeking to qualify for points under major green rating systems.

Mark Johnson, ICC-ES® president, says, “As the green movement continues to grow, it’s our goal to provide manufacturers such as DEMILEC (USA) LLC®, a valuable, credible resource that will help them demonstrate their continued commitment to delivering proven sustainable solutions to the industry.”

ICC-ES thoroughly examined DEMILEC (USA) LLC®’s product information, test reports, calculations, quality control methods and other factors to ensure the product contains 10% bio-based material content. “DEMILEC (USA)® is pleased to have SEALECTION Agribalance® spray foam insulation be recognized as a sustainable building product, said Dave Lall, Vice President & General Manager for DEMILEC (USA) LLC®. “We recognize the importance of sustainable design and construction, so we’re excited that SEALECTION Agribalance® has the highest bio-based material content of any spray foam insulation tested to date.”

SEALECTION Agribalance® is an open-celled, semi-rigid polyurethane spray foam insulation that contains ten percent renewable agriculture-based products, primarily vegetable oils, for residential buildings. Because it expands to tightly fill the building cavity, SEALECTION Agribalance® creates a healthier, quieter, more energy-efficient environment by sealing cracks, gaps and voids in attics, walls and ceilings.

ICC-ES is a subsidiary of the International Code Council, a membership association dedicated to building safety and fire prevention that develops the codes used to construct residential and commercial buildings, including homes and schools. Most U.S. cities, counties and states that adopt codes choose the International Codes developed by the International Code Council.
