Henry and IFTI Successfully Pass Alternative Thermal and Ignition Barrier Testing

IRVINE, CA – December 19, 2013 – International Fireproof Technology Inc. (IFTI) and Henry® Spray Foam announced today that DC315 spray-applied coating passed a certified NFPA 286 test over over PERMAX™ 1.8 LB. closed-cell and PERMAX LV 0.5 LB. open-cell spray polyurethane foam at Intertek Labs in San Antonio, Texas and QAI Labs in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Henry's Senior Product Manager Brian West stated, "I am very excited that we achieved such a great yield with the DC315 coating. I feel our contractors will benefit from having DC315 as a thermal barrier and ignition barrier option. It is a real benefit having one product as a complete solution."
"We welcome Henry to our ever growing family of manufacturers who will settle for nothing less than certified code compliant testing of their SPF brands," stated Gary Wolfe, Executive Vice President of IFTI. "IFTI leads the industry with its catalog of tests. Any coating company can tell you their coating will work on the foam brand you spray; it is another thing to prove it with testing. If you are not using DC315 you may not be complying with the codes!"
All tests are full-scale and meet the applicable requirements of 2006 IBC Section 803.2.1; 2009 IBC Section 803.2.1 and Section 2603.9; 2012 IBC Section 803.2.1 and Section 2603.10 Special Approval for Thermal Barrier Alternatives. DC315 also meets the requirement as an ignition barrier per AC 377, Appendix X.
DC315 has passed testing on Arnette, AirTight, BASF, Bayer MaterialScience, Ecobay, Convenience, DOW, Guard foam, Icynene, Lapolla, NCFI, Gaco Western, Johns Manville, Corbond, Quadrant, SWD, CertainTeed, BioBased, Premium, Natural Polymers, SucraSeal, TVM, Versi-Foam, Thermoseal, and Henry SPF.
DC315 is a one-coat, water-based latex paint that offers superior fire protection over foam. DC315 applies like regular latex paint using an airless sprayer and, being water-based, offers easy cleanup.
