Foametix® Race Car Wins Again for Spray Foam Insulation Industry - Claudio Burtin Drives Next Race

LEXINGTON, OH-  In  a repeat performance of their recent success in Salt Lake City, the number 13 Foametix/Woodhouse Performance Dodge Viper of Tommy Archer achieved his second victory of the year, in only the fourth race of the year for team partner Foametix.

“The partnership between Woodhouse Performance and Foametix has just been outstanding,” stated Foametix President Scooter Delaune. “Tommy, and all of the crew at Woodhouse Performance, ran a perfect race. To bounce back from their last race at Watkins Glen like this is just unbelievable, and this is exactly the kind of partner to properly reflect our spray foam insulation brand.”

Qualifying in first place for Sunday’s Acura Sports Car Challenge, series-veteran Archer took the lead heading in to the first turn and simply never looked back as he took a flag to flag victory. It was the second win of the season for Archer, and he’s currently batting a two for three average with the Foametix team.

"It's really rewarding for Foametix, the sponsor, who didn’t get on the podium at Watkins Glen and the Woodhouse Performance team who are all working so hard,” Archer said. “I’m a pretty picky guy. I wanted everything right on the car, because at this track, if you get behind somebody you’re in trouble. I knew going into qualifying we had to get up front as far as possible to keep a clean track.”

For Woodhouse Performance owner Bob Woodhouse, the race was a testament to his team’s commitment to results. “Sunday’s race was incredible. Tommy is an amazing driver and the team supported him so well, the race was pure joy to watch.  I really hope everyone at Foametix is happy with this result,  I don’t think anyone could ask for better having won two out of four races as partners.  I hope you get to watch the GT race on SPEED channel Thursday, July 24th at - 1:00 PM eastern.”

Ending his streak on a high, Archer will step down at the next race in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, for Georgia-native Claudio Burtin. A veteran of many types of sports-car programs, Burtin relishes the opportunity to follow in Tommy’s footsteps. “Tommy has created some might big shoes to fill at Road America, but I’m looking forward to it. The track at Road America should suit the Viper well, so hopefully our luck can continue.
The race will be broadcast on Thursday, July 24th on SpeedTV, airing at 1p.m, EST. The next round of the SCCA Speed World Challenge GT Series will take place on August 10th at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
