Florida Spray Foam Company Recently Completes School Job

CRAWFORDVILLE, FL – August 26, 2011 – Situated on the Florida panhandle,North Florida Spray Foam (NFSF) has been in the spray foam business for nearly six years. Neil Autrey, current owner and president, recently spoke with SprayFoam.com about the company’s origins as well as the recent completion of a school project. “We established North Florida Spray Foam in 2005,” said Autrey. “At the time, my partner, Jimmy Fewell, was working in dry wall and we both saw a need in insulation.”

Seeing a growing trend in the spray foam insulation, Autrey and Fewell began researching background information on the benefits of spray foam insulation. As a result of their findings, Autrey and Fewell were motivated in opening up their own spray foam contracting service.

In 2005, Autrey and Fewell opened North Florida Spray Foam. Following the establishment of the company, Autrey continued to work at his day job while applying spray foam on the weekends. Six months after opening the company, Autrey went full time with NFSF and has been satisfied with business ever since. The company specializes, mostly, in the application of spray foam insulation within the residential construction market. “We offer a lot of other services,” said Autrey. “Fiberglass and cellulose just to name a few. We are most comfortable with working in spray foam.”

Currently, NFSF services in areas around the Florida panhandle as well as southern Alabama and Georgia. “We try to keep a 100-mile work radius,” said Autrey. "The farthest the company has travelled outside the 100-mile radius was for two separate jobs in Sylvester, GA."

According to Autrey, one of the company’s most memorable jobs included the application of spray foam insulation for a 15,000 square foot plantation in Greenville, FL. The owner of the planation had plans to transform the large estate into a resort.

“The job was one our company’s largest,” said Autrey. “Since we have been working in residential homes for the longest time now, the plantation was a large job, especially for three people.”

The owner of the plantation expected NFSF to be finished with the entire house in about 30 days. Exceeding all expectations, Autrey and his team, including his son head sprayer Travis Autrey, finished the house in 10 days with positive results from the homeowner. “Once we started spraying,” said Autrey. “We didn’t stop until the work was done.”

Recently, Autrey and NFSF completed a contract with Woodville Elementary in Woodville, FL. The job consisted of NFSF collaborating with Andy and Patti Koundourakis of AKA Insulation in removing and installing almost 20,000 square feet of Demilec Heatlok closed cell spray foam to the school’s roof deck. According to Autrey, there was a significant amount of condensation coming out of the school’s air conditioning unit. Just like the plantation job, the joint NFSF-AKA contract was completed in half the time that was expected with positive results from the school’s principal.

“We worked as a team,” concluded Autrey. “If the AKA guys needed help removing, we would help them out and vice versa. The collaboration was really helpful.”
