Texas housing community features energy efficiency updates

In Texas, the recession hit the state's housing market badly, but it is steadily rebounding thanks to a jump in energy efficiency updates that construction companies are including in many of their new housing projects, according to a published report.

The Houston Chronicle reports that one such house is for sale in a popular new gated community in Baytown, Texas. Among the many upscale features in the home located in the historic Montrose neighborhood of Houston is spray foam insulation in the attic for maximum energy efficiency and storage, as well as a foil radiant barrier.

What's more, there is space on the units' rooftops for solar panel systems should an owner decide to install one. Most of the housing units have already sold, but there is still one available, according to the news source.

Texas has quickly become a hotbed of clean energy activity in the U.S., as companies move to construct solar and wind power systems throughout the state. With that uptick in clean energy system construction has come a similar wave of energy efficiency updates to existing and new buildings, industry analysts assert.
