Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation Is The Key Component In Successful Home Retrofits

BULLVILLE, NY – March 6, 2014 – Dr. Energy Saver of Hudson Valley understands the importance of living comfortably. More importantly, they understand how to make a home perform well without the need to consume high levels of energy, which generate considerably high monthly bills, and still maintain an optimal climate for its residents. For those in New York's Orange County and surrounding areas, Energy Saver can lend a helping hand.

"The bottom line with Dr. Energy Saver is that we make homes more comfortable," said Dr. Energy Saver's General Manager David Sawransky. "We delve into anything that is required to make a home energy-efficient and comfortable. In our efforts we have found that the best material for thermal insulation is spray polyurethane foam."

Dr. Energy Saver has been providing spray foam insulation, and other home performance solutions for 14 years. Formerly in the foundation waterproofing membrane industry, Dr. Energy Saver opted to expand on their home improvement offerings after its operators became educated on spray foam's benefits. Over time, the purchasing of one spray rig turned into five.

Spray foam insulation is only one aspect of Dr. Energy Saver's home performance services. Their team performs energy audits to be able to identify areas of the home that need improvement and/or are consuming too much energy. Dr. Energy Saver also handles installations of light bulbs and water heaters, they'll repair HVAC ductwork, and they'll also install batt or blown insulation.

"We have plenty of arrows in our quiver," stated Sawransky.

Sawransky is a firm believer in SPF safety and proper application and explained that his sprayers must comply with the OSHA required 10-hour CPI training program before they can apply spray foam. Additionally, Dr. Energy Saver carries out a monthly safety meeting for its employees in a controlled environment to keep the 28 people in their staff up to date with the safety standards of the SPF industry.

Sawransky sees definite growth for SPF and his company at large, although he forecasts that this growth will stem from retrofitting existing homes as opposed to new construction, pending a comeback in the housing market.

"Existing homes and renovation is going to be the driving force for the spray foam industry over the next two years," said Sawransky. "I see people augmenting their existing homes, making them better. It will be less expensive to do that than try to buy something else."
