The show closed out with the SPFA’s Industry Excellence Awards along with the introduction of a few inaugural awards. The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) also created the Doug Commette Industry Promotion Award in memory of industry legend and founder of SprayFoam.com and Spray Foam Magazine, Doug Commette, who unexpectedly passed in December of 2025. “This recognition means so much to our family. Doug was deeply passionate about the SPF industry, and he would be truly proud to see his legacy continue. Thank you for celebrating the impact he made, it will never be forgotten” said his wife, Margo Commette.

Todd Bolton, founder of Synergy Spray Foam, also had the honor of unveiling the Doug Commette Legacy Challenge Coins and presenting them. He said, “Doug was more than someone I respected in the industry; he was a true friend and mentor to me, and a lot of how I think and approach both business and life today comes from him. Being able to honor him like that meant more than I can really put into words.”
J.T. Meyer was awarded the first coin and $500 from the Commette family. “Being recognized and receiving the first annual Doug Commette Legacy Challenge Coin was a true honor! Thank you to Margo Commette and the Commette family for this incredible honor and thank you to Spray Foam Magazine for helping keep Doug’s legacy alive. I’m grateful, humbled, and motivated to continue working hard and giving back in a way that would make Doug proud. The coin found its home on my dresser,” said Meyer.
