SFS Hosts Air Barrier Training Course At Georgia Facility

GREENSBORO, GA – April 28, 2015 – SFS, a leading supplier of mobile spray rigs for the spray polyurethane foam and polyurea industries, recently hosted an air barrier training course at their facility located in Greensboro, Georgia. The two-day course focused on the description and installation of air barrier systems, and it also included a thorough overview of SFS’ applicable products for each air barrier system.  SFS’ TJ Peters noted that the goal of the course was to educate attendees on the company’s air barrier system products and how to be properly certified to use these products, thus establishing a strong presence in the air barrier marketplace.

“As spray foam experts, it’s been a smooth transition for us to start offering training and information on air barrier products,” said Peters. “The basis of the training consisted on teaching contractors how to use specific products to build air barrier systems.”

Throughout the training course, SFS covered best practices and products pertaining to self-adhered air barrier systems, transition membrane air barrier systems, fluid-applied air barrier systems, and spray polyurethane foam air barrier systems. In addition to these overviews, SFS showcased their mobile spray rigs designed specifically to install these systems. Peters mentioned that during the training there was a strong emphasis on how to utilize fluid-applied systems in conjunction with spray polyurethane foam to create continuous air barrier systems for commercial buildings.

In attendance were numerous spray foam contractors from all over the country looking to learn how to expand their business. According to Peters, SFS’ goal is to continue to hold air barrier courses throughout the year in order to continue their mission in providing awareness to contractors who want to take the next step.

“The training gives the contractor the opportunity to learn hands-on training from people who understand the full building envelope system and the building science behind it,” said Peters. “We are trying to get more spray foam contractors to learn how to build better air barrier systems, it’s kind of a puzzle and we try to help them put all the pieces together and train them how to use these pieces so that they can accomplish high-quality work for the building air barrier industry.”

SFS is now stocking and providing support on a full line of air barrier equipment, spray rigs, and materials.

"Our new line of ProPAK PC rigs offer contractors a turn key air barrier spray rig that provide them with training and support on the entire air barrier application," said Peters.  "We are providing the full package including application equipment, spray polyurethane foam, and all types of air barrier products including fluid applied and self-adhered membranes."
