SEALECTION Agribalance® Spray Foam Insulation is ICC-ES ESR #2600 Code-Compliant

September 15, 2008 -  Arlington, TX — SEALECTION Agribalance® manufactured by DEMILEC (USA) LLC. ®, received an evaluation report (ESR #2600) from ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES), providing evidence that the open cell spray foam insulation meets code  requirements. Building officials, architects, contractors, specifiers, designers and others utilize the ICC-ES Evaluation Reports to provide a basis for using or approving SEALECTION Agribalance® in construction projects following the 2006 International Building Code® (IBC), 2006 International Residential Code® (IRC) and the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code® (IECC).

ICC-ES President John Nosse explains why ICC-ES Evaluation Reports are so important. “DEMILEC (USA) can now reference the evaluation report to ensure building officials and the building industry that the product meets I-Code requirements,” Nosse said. “Building departments have a long history of using evaluation reports, and ICC-ES operates as a technical resource for the building department.  Final approval of building products is always in the hands of the local regulatory agency.”

ICC-ES thoroughly examined DEMILEC (USA)’s product information, test reports, calculations, quality control methods and other factors to ensure the product is code compliant. “DEMILEC (USA) is pleased to have SEALECTION Agribalance® spray foam insulation be recognized by ICC-ES as code compliant,” said Dave Lall, Vice President and General Manager for DEMILEC (USA) LLC. “We are excited that
SEALECTION Agribalance® is one of the only spray foam insulation products on the market that may be spray-applied to the underside of the roof sheathing and/or rafters; and the underside of wood floors and/or floor joists in crawl spaces as described in Section 4.4 of the ESR #2600.  The thickness of the foam may be applied up to 10 inches without the use of an ignition barrier, excluding vertical surfaces.”

ICC-ES is the United States’ leading source of technical information on building products and building technology for code compliance. A nonprofit, public-benefit corporation, ICC-ES performs technical evaluations of building products, components, methods and materials. The evaluation process culminates with the issuance of reports on compliance with the major U.S. building codes, which are available at www.icc-es.org

ICC-ES is a subsidiary of the International Code Council, a membership association dedicated to building safety and fire prevention that develops the codes used to construct residential and commercial buildings, including homes and schools. Most U.S. cities, counties and states that adopt codes choose the International Codes developed by the International Code Council.
