Performance Foam Tech Adds Applegate R Injection Foam to Repertoire

SALINAS, CA - March 5, 2012 - Performance Foam Tech, a landmark spray foam contractor in central California, recently added injection foam to their line of services. Owner, Michael Morgan, who has been in the construction business for 35 years, brought spray foam to the state of California and was the first to ‘legally’ insulate with a certified product back in 1999. As closed cell spray foam specialists for 13 years now, PFT’s market has been confined to new construction and remodels. With the downturn of the economy and fewer homes being built, more people are upgrading their existing homes and spending money to make them more energy efficient. Until now, PFT had nothing to offer those who called and needed something to insulate their existing walls.

After much research on drill and fill products, PFT decided on the Applegate R foam. Applegate has a solid background in the insulation industry and provides excellent service, training and support. Compared to the other brands, Applegate R foam has 30-40% higher resin content, resulting in higher foam density; lower water content, meaning less moisture in the wall cavity; and is formulated with chemical cross linkers, meaning less foam shrinkage. It goes in like shaving cream, fills every void and can even go in walls that have fiberglass insulation. It works great for deadening sound, and is a much better insulation than cellulose or blown in fiberglass.

Performance Foam Tech is also Applegate’s distributor for California. They will provide training, build the trailers and supply the product for those who want to become dealers. There are over 6.5 million single family homes in California, many with no or insufficient insulation, so the marketing potential is enormous.

Michael Morgan is a guest speaker at local Building and Safety departments, architect firms, AIA meetings and National Association of Remodeling Industry meetings. He explains the many virtues of closed cell foam, how to eliminate venting in attics and vaulted ceilings, and where mold comes from. He was recently one of four representatives for the spray foam industry at the California Energy Council in Sacramento. Performance Foam Tech has been featured on ‘Holmes on Homes’ on the discovery Channel, on HGTV’s ‘Designing Spaces’ and also insulated the showcase home at the PCBC trade show in San Francisco for BASF foam.
