New York Spray Foam Company Holds Annual Foam School Training

WEST WINFIELD, NY – July 1, 2011 – Christian Fabrication of West Winfield, NY recently held their second annual Foam School from June 29 - June 30 with a student attendance rate of 26. The two-day classes covered a wide array of topics including health and safety, spray foam equipment troubleshooting, and material handling.

Being of the few foam schools in the Northeast Region, Christian Fabrication prides itself on its informative training program. “Our training program is mainly aimed at new contractors and distributors looking to get into the spray foam industry,” said Billy Gibson, a public relations representative from Christian Fabrication. “The training program also provides certification for proper handling and application of CertainTeed Certa-Spray Foam. We are not permitted to sell the CertainTeed product to just anyone. The material can only be sold to and handled by certified applicators.”

On the first day of training, Ed Pentz, a technical representative of CertainTeed, led the day’s courses with training in health and safety, building sciences, and material handling. The following day, Christian Fabrication owner Jamie Christian, accompanied by Alan Barker, led the hands-on training teaching students the basics on how to operate spray foam equipment. “Barker and Christian are two of the best technicians in the Northeast region,” said Gibson. “Whether it is rig related, gun related or material related these guys can really help identify and remedy any type of problem. This keeps our customers from getting stranded in the field. As most technicians in the industry lack in-field experience, Christian and Barker have and still see these problems in actual in-field conditions week after week. Anyone can sit through hours of classes and seminars but in the end what they lack is real in-field experience. These guys have been through it.”

Also present at the training courses was Kevin Arsenault of Graco Incorporated. Arsenault spoke with students about the products offered by Graco as well as answered questions that were brought up during the discussions.

“Overall the training program was a success,” said Gibson. “This is the second year in a row we have held the training programs at the end of June. If the demand for the classes rises, we will have no problem scheduling additional classes throughout the year.”
