Meritage Homes to Display Spray Foam Installation

CENTENNIAL HILLS, NEVADA - February 11, 2011 - On Friday, February 11, Meritage Homes will be displaying the application of spray foam insulation to the public at a model home project in Centennial Hills, Nevada. The "deconstructed' Meritage Green home will be open to the media on Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. PST.

Meritage says that it has chosen spray foam for its practical, economical and environmental qualities. It seals in heat during the winter and conditioned air during the summer, thanks to the creation of a snug building envelope. It also prevents dirt, dust and other outside pollutants from  infiltrating into the home, because expanding spray foam fills every available nook and cranny.

A new homeowner in a building that employs spray foam insulation can save about 60 percent of their annual heating and cooling bill, according to the home builder.

Some of the new Meritage Green homes in the Northern Terrace of Centennial Hills will also feature solar panel installations, and the price of these sustainable houses will start at about $150,000.

This is a perfect opportunity for curious builders, journalists and aspiring homeowners to see exactly how spray foam insulation works.
