Sterling Customer Service Is Key to Success For Georgia-Based Spray Foam Supply Company

CONYERS, GA - June 24, 2013- John Branch is not a man who believes in selling package equipment to his customers, he believes in meeting the customer's need to the utmost detail, so as to develop a relationship that breaks through the usual seller/buyer relationship and into one of friendship. While running his Georgia-based SPF supplying company, A&B Enterprise Group (A&B), Branch, and his partner Rene Brewer, practice a style of customer service that mirrors their own expectations as customers.

"We like to treat our customers like they are family," Branch said.

A&B's primary area of expertise consists of the assembling of customized turn-key spray rigs, covering a spectrum of customers ranging from individual contractors to high-end companies such as Pinnacle West, Inc. According to Branch, the company moved its Rutledge, Georgia, operation to a 6,000 sq. ft. facility in Conyers, Georgia, in the beginning of May to facilitate their production and distribution of spray rigs. The company also moved for the purpose of better servicing their metro Atlanta and North Georgia customers, which, as per Branch, is their targeted sales market.

A&B is a Graco and PMC sub-distributor, which enables Branch and his team to put together rigs with different alternatives of brand parts in order to suit a customer's needs. Branch says that when it comes to rig building, the parts inside must be "time-proven components," which suggests they should be quality parts that promote long-term durability.

"All of the components on the rigs are brand name components," Branch said. "When it comes to air compressors and generators, I've gone through several companies to get the best product possible. All out fittings are quality fittings, all our hoses are quality hoses. I make sure all that goes into the rig will last for a longer period of time. That way, whoever's using the rig doesn't have to keep changing the parts constantly."

Branch added that the reason he looks for the best component rather than the most cost-effective part is because, in his 15-year tenure in the spray polyurethane foam business, he has encountered a lot of problems in the form of complaints from customers who had some of their rig components falter within a short period of time. To alleviate the latter, he found that the solution is to provide quality parts 100 percent of the time, disregarding the expense.

"I may have to spend a little extra, but it's worth every penny in the end," Branch said.

According to Branch, A&B is dedicated to magnifying the client's requirements, specifically for what kind of projects he or she will be needing the equipment for, whether it's a 10-year SPF contractor or someone wanting to get into the business.

"Instead of a package deal, we want to make sure our customers are getting what they need; we design around that," Branch said. "I'm not going to sell a client a Graco Reactor E-30 proportioner when an E-20 will do; I'm not going to make a customer spend more money than they need to spend on a machine or a rig."

Even though the A&B website provides information of what constitutes a basic rig, a mid-level rig, and a premium rig, Branch notes that those are merely examples for a potential client to review. According to Branch, the main goal of his company is to make every rig for that particular customer and the specifics he or she requests.

Aside from assembling new spray rigs, A&B also distributes used equipment to cater to the contractor that might not be able to afford a new rig or new parts. Branch said that when it comes to supplying used equipment, his team will go the extra mile to ensure said equipment is in the best condition possible before they bring it to the customer's attention.

"If a customer wants an old rig and I don't have one at my facility, I will go through several different trusted people to see if they have rigs available… It's kind of like buying a used car; you don't want to buy a used car from just anybody," Branch said. "Once one is found, I would have to see the rig and try it out; I would never sell a rig to someone without personally knowing it's in the best condition possible and that it works properly."

A&B also distributes spray polyurethane foam. Whether it involves stocking a customized rig with a few sets of foam or providing a contractor with SPF for individual use, the A&B team supplies open and closed-cell Thermoseal SPF to its client. Thermoseal, which is formulated by Spray Foam Polymers, is 2 lbs. in density for the closed-cell, and can range from 0.5 lb. to 1.6 lbs. for the open-cell SPF.

The A&B staff employed two technicians to provide training for their rig building staff. Branch believes that proper training and SPF installation certifications such as ones obtained via the SPFA PCP Program are becoming more necessary. Branch believes that individuals who buy a rig and start a business without knowing what they are doing give the SPF business a bad name.

With a positive regional outlook, Branch and his team look forward to future growth.

"The growth potential is large," said Branch. "With the economy starting to come back, I think sales are going to blow up, especially around this area, given the fact that we have most of the rig builders and insulation companies in the country."

About A&B Enterprise Group, Inc: The A&B staff has over 15 years of experience in the spay foam and insulation business. Primarily serving metro Atlanta and northern Georgia, A&B provides the tools to help their clients make informed decisions in order to build them customized spray foam rigs.
