Spray Foam Distributors of New England Announces 2013 Northeast Spray Foam Conference

LINCOLN, NH–May 7, 2013–Spray Foam Distributors of New England (SFDONE) is pleased to announce the 2013 Northeast Spray Foam Conference. The 5th Annual Conference will incorporate curriculum prep and examinations for the SPFA Professional Certification Program. Additionally, SFDONE is hosting its first-ever customer appreciation event to bring the conference to a close.

The conference is scheduled to take place from May 21-24, 2013. The first three days of the conference will be held at the Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, New Hampshire. For the final day, the conference venue will be located at SFDONE's facility in Woodstock, New Hampshire.

Each day of the conference taking place at Indian Head will cover one level of SPFA Certification, beginning with SPF Assistant and continuing on with a specific focus on the Insulation category. It should be noted that each level above SPF Assistant is expected to have knowledge of the curriculum covered in the preceding level(s). Morning sessions will focus on curriculum, and after a lunch break, exams will be administered in the afternoon sessions. Following the exams, each conference day will feature presentations by guest speakers Mason Knowles and Doug Commette.

May 21: SPF Assistant Training & Exam
This course will prepare the student for the SPFA Certification Exam for SPF Assistant for both Insulation and Roofing. The topics covered in the curriculum include Introduction to Spray Polyurethane Foam and Chemical, as well as General and Job-Site Health and Safety.

May 22: SPF Installer Training & Exam
This course will prepare the student for the SPFA Certification Exam for SPF Insulation Installer. The topics covered in the curriculum include: Pre-Job Planning, Job-site Set-Up Procedures, Substrate Preparation, Start-Up Procedures, Installation Methodology and Shut-Down Procedures.

May 23: SPF Master Installer Training & Exam
This course will prepare the student for the SPFA Certification Exam for SPF Insulation Master Installer. The topics covered in the curriculum include: Troubleshooting and Repair; Preparing for a Third Party Inspection; Thermal and Ignition Barriers; Sealant Foams – One and Two Component, Hybrid Insulation Systems; SPF Equipment and Coating Equipment. Note: Also required to become a Master Installer is a field exam to be conducted at a later date. The exam takes a few hours and appointments will be scheduled at the conference.

May 24: Pig Roast and Customer Appreciation Day
The final day of the conference will feature presentations on Graco equipment, pumps, and spray guns. Prospective attendees should also be excited to step up to the plate and participate in the two competitions: the Spray Foam Showdown and the Fusion Gun Challenge. The Showdown will determine who can spray the best wall cavity on a mock assembly, with the winner receiving a free set of foam. The Challenge will decide who can assemble a Fusion spray gun, with the winner receiving a brand new Fusion AP or Fusion CS spray gun.
