Canada Puts on a Show

Spray Foam Magazine – Fall 2025 – Stacey Mizera is a great presence in the industry. When she sets a goal, she consistently delivers results. Recently, we had the opportunity to discuss the remarkable success of the inaugural North American Foam Alliance (NAFA) show held at the WinSport in Calgary on July 18th and 19th, organized by Stacey. The event brought together a dynamic mix of attendees and exhibitors, creating an electrifying and welcoming atmosphere.
Reflecting on the event, Stacey shared, “Without a doubt, the highlights of the show were the competitions. We executed our spray foam competition with 22 sprayers in an impressive two hours and 45 minutes. This achievement was made possible thanks to the outstanding coordination of Brett Gunn and the entire Elastochem team, along with the expert contributions of our esteemed judges—Adam Luffman of Urethane Foam Consultants and Dudley Primeaux of Primeaux Associates.”
Friday the 18th was a resounding success, with attendees fully immersed in dynamic presentations from a range of industry leaders. Bolair added to the excitement with the engaging gun-building competition, where Christopher Fall from Prairie Insulation won two gold titles, including Spray Foam Champion and Gun Building Champion, finishing the build in an impressive time of 5:42.93.
The Rig Show & Shine competition was another highlight of the event, celebrating the craftsmanship and pride of rig owners and company representatives. Jeff Bredeweg of Spray Tek Insulation Alberta took top honors, edging out his brother Gerrit’s impressive rig by a razor-thin margin of just one point. Enviro Home Inc., also hailing from Alberta, claimed first place in their category with their standout 4x4 spray rig.
The NAFA event received robust support from sponsors, with Genyk serving as the platinum sponsor for the show and dinner, Elastochem sponsoring the Rig Show and Shine and the Spray Competition. Bolair and Graco proudly sponsored the gun-building competition.
Maxime Gauthier, president of Genyk, offered enthusiastic praise: “Congratulations on the phenomenal success of the first NAFA trade show! Your dedication and energy are truly inspiring, and it’s evident you’ve created a significant platform for the Canadian spray foam industry. We are fully committed to renewing our platinum sponsorship, and you should take immense pride in this accomplishment.”
Betsy Cosper from Elastochem delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing gratitude for Stacey’s hard work and commitment to creating such a memorable event. Mike Marlow from Bolair echoed this sentiment, stating, “It was an outstanding show. We are proud to sponsor such an impactful event and eagerly look forward to the next one.” Rex Tailor from Cortez Industries added, “I was happy to support something that not only helps the industry but also shows we care and support our community. Thank you for all your efforts, and I look forward to supporting you again in Niagara Falls.”
The successful inaugural NAFA event has already motivated Stacey to secure the next show at the Niagara Falls Convention Center in Ontario, scheduled for May 8-9, 2026. “I would like to extend a huge thank you to every exhibitor, sponsor, presenter, and attendee. Foamily is what made this show a success.”
