BPI's Building Science Principles Now Available in Spanish

MALTA, NY – January 28, 2015 – The Building Performance Institute, Inc. is proud to announce that Spanish versions of the Building Science Principles (BSP) Certificate of Knowledge exam and companion Reference Guide are now available in Spanish for purchase through a new section of BPI's website.
"BPI recognizes that there are many Spanish speaking professionals in the home performance industry, or looking to develop their careers here," says BPI CEO Larry Zarker. "The Spanish BSP offers members of the Hispanic community across the nation an opportunity to not only learn whole-house building science, but also to earn this certificate of knowledge that will help them take critical steps toward a career in the building trades."
Earning the BSP certificate is based on passing a 100-question online exam that verifies a basic knowledge of building science. The BSP certificate's companion Reference Guide helps prepare candidates to understand how various systems of the home interact to maximize energy efficiency, enhance building durability, and protect occupant comfort, health and safety. The Reference Guide and exam can be accessed anytime online.
Because the BSP is a knowledge-based exam, it requires no hands on field testing with diagnostic equipment. For those considering a career in home performance contracting, it serves as an introduction to BPI's technical certifications, including the Building Analyst, Building Envelope, Heating and AC/Heat Pump professional designations. The BSP certificate is not a BPI technical certification.
Continuing Education - ASHI home inspectors, LEED professionals and NAR Green Designees can all earn continuing education credits or alternative training credit by passing the BSP exam and earning the BSP certificate.
