Lead Generating Company Turns Its Sights on Spray Foam Contractors

East Stroudsburg, Penn. – October 10, 2011 – Nestled in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains in northeastern Pennsylvania stands automated lead generation company Mac Leads. Bill MacHale, current president of Mac Leads, talks with SprayFoam.com about the company’s origins as well as its involvement with the homebuilding industry.

Prior to establishing Mac Leads, MacHale worked in insurance generating leads for clients. In 1991, MacHale decided to open his own lead generating side project that would later become known as Mac Leads.

In 1993, while looking for leads, MacHale came to the realization that he could use automated telephone calls to generate newer leads at a much faster rate.

“I found out it worked very well,” he said.

Over the next several years, MacHale’s lead generating project began to gradually transform to a full time job. With lead generation now his primary focus, MacHale looked into reaching out to out-of-state leads.

Finding success with lead generation through automated telephone calls, MacHale began looking into generating leads for home improvement contractors.

“Contractors are big ticket customers,” he said. “They are the most in need of a lead generating service and they are much more receptive.”

MacHale states that throughout the early stages of the company, the task of generating leads used to be extremely difficult due to the lack of Internet and email. He says that the Internet is a foundation for the expansion of the company.

“Technology has grown over the years,” he said. “Previously, it was very difficult to get information about a certain demographic. Now, with the Internet and email, our company can easily perform market research, as well as being much more productive and efficient for our customers.”

To generate leads, Mac Leads works with contractors by calling homeowners with an energy awareness survey distributed by the company exclusively for the contractor in their territory. The names and phone numbers of the respondents are then filtered to Mac Leads who then forwards them to their contractor client in the respective market. “The contractor then contacts the leads, who are expecting their call, to schedule a “home energy analysis”, MacHale said.

According to MacHale, Mac Leads conducts surveys six days a week. When the surveys are completed, contractors are met with fresh new leads on a daily basis.

“What contractors like to do is order one to two weeks worth of leads,” MacHale said. “After their ‘mini’ contract is up, they just renew over and over again.”

MacHale also states that leads generated for contractors are on an as needed-basis.

Currently, Mac Lead’s largest customers are insulation and whole-house water treatment contractors, including USA Insulation who has been with the company since MacHale first contacted them.

“We were making calls to see who was interested in the industry,” MacHale said. “[USA Insulation] were the first to respond with interested in automated lead generation. We have been working with them since then.”

Along with working with USA Insulation, Mac Leads also generates leads for companies that are going green.

“We support companies that take steps to better improve the environment as well as give people jobs,” MacHale said. “It’s like you’re contributing to something you believe in.”

In its 20th year in business, MacHale is now looking to expanding Mac Leads to generating leads for the solar industry. With the push for homeowners to become much more energy efficient, MacHale believes there is an entirely new market to be explored.
