Advanced Registration for 2012 Polyurethanes Technical Conference to End Soon

WASHINGTON, D.C.–September 17, 2012–The 2012 Polyurethanes Technical Conference is just around the corner, and attendees have a chance to save $100 with advanced registration. Hosted by the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council (ACC), the 2012 Polyurethanes Technical Conference will take place Sept. 24 to 26 at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta.

"More than 775 people have taken advantage of the savings and already registered for the conference, with more signing up every day," said Lee Salamone, senior director of CPI. "We are looking forward to strong turnout and excellent technical presentations this year. The Polyurethane Professional Development Program remains popular as always, and there is a lot of excitement surrounding about our keynote speaker, ACC's Cal Dooley. It's going to be a great event."

Technical Papers and Posters
The 2012 Polyurethanes Technical Conference will feature more than 60 technical papers as well as 26 poster presentations. Papers and posters address a variety of issues, including breakthrough technologies in polyurethane markets or chemistry, new solutions for renewable content, or advancements in product areas such as rigid foam insulation or elastomers. They may also highlight environmental and stewardship issues, such as product emissions and end-of-life management. This wealth of technical content provides leaders and professionals with an opportunity to learn about the latest innovations, technical developments and issues affecting the global polyurethanes industry. Polyurethane Professional Development Program (PDP)
Attendees have an opportunity to learn from the industry's top experts during this unmatched education and training opportunity. Course topics include introductory polyurethane chemistry; introductory polyurethane technology and products; markets and applications; sealants, adhesives and binders; elastomers and coatings; processing equipment; raw material testing, specifications and performance; and physical testing of polyurethane foams. To participate in the PDP, participants must register for the conference. PDP tuition is a single payment of $150, which includes course materials, whether attending one or more courses. Keynote Speaker Cal Dooley
ACC President and CEO Calvin M. Dooley will deliver the keynote address at this year's opening session. Mr. Dooley represented the 20th District of California as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1991 to 2004 and served on the House Agriculture Committee, as well as the House Resources Committee. In Atlanta, he will discuss the latest news and trends in today's chemical industry, including ACC's advocacy work on chemical regulation reform and energy policy.
