BASF Polyurethane Foam Enterprises LLC receives evaluation report from ICC-ES

WYANDOTTE, MI, February 19, 2008 – BASF Polyurethane Foam Enterprises LLC received an evaluation report ESR-2489F and ESR-2298M from ICC Evaluation Service, Inc. (ICC-ES) for its ELASTOSPRAY® 81000 and FE348 Series spray polyurethane foam (SPF) roofing applications, providing evidence that SPF roofing applications meet code requirements. Building officials, architects, contractors, specifiers, designers and others utilize the ICC-ES Evaluation Reports to provide a basis for using or approving ELASTOSPRAY® 81000 and FE348 series spray polyurethane foam in construction projects following the International Building Code.

ICC-ES President, John Nosse, explains why ICC-ES Evaluation Reports are so important. "BASF Polyurethane Foam Enterprises can now reference the evaluation report to assure building officials and the building industry that the product meets I-Code requirements," said Nosse. "Building departments have a long history of using evaluation reports, and ICC-ES operates as a technical resource for the building department. Final approval of building products is always in the hands of the local regulatory agency."

ICC-ES thoroughly examined BASF Polyurethane Foam Enterprises's product information, test reports, calculations, quality control methods and other factors to ensure the product is code compliant. "This current ICC Evaluation Services-ES Report will help our customers, building owners and specifiers understand our products' compliance and approvals for roofing applications. BASF Polyurethane Foam Enterprises is able to lead the industry in providing the most current evaluation of its products," said Scott Brodman, national sales manager, BASF Polyurethane Foam Enterprises.

ICC-ES is the United States' leading source of technical information on building products and building technology for code compliance. A nonprofit, public-benefit corporation, ICC-ES performs technical evaluations of building products, components, methods and materials. The evaluation process culminates with the issuance of reports on compliance with the major U.S. building codes, which are available at www.icc-es.org.

ICC-ES is a subsidiary of the International Code Council, a membership association dedicated to building safety and fire prevention that develops the codes used to construct residential and commercial buildings, including homes and schools. Most U.S. cities, counties and states that adopt codes choose the International Codes developed by the International Code Council. This report describes ELASTOSPRAY® 81000 and FE348 Series spray polyurethane foam and various elastomeric coatings used as roof covering systems with an A or B classification that are permitted on buildings of any type of construction.
