CPI's 2012 Polyurethanes Technical Conference Kicks Off Today in Atlanta
ATLANTA, GA–September 24, 2012–The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) has kicked off its 2012 Polyurethanes Technical Conference from Atlanta, Georgia. This conference marks the 75th anniversary of the polyurethanes industry, and SprayFoam.com was there to cover the event.
Lee Salamone, CPI's Senior Director, gave the welcome attendees to the conference in the opening ceremony. Then, CPI Conference Committee Chair Amanda Pugh set the tone for the event with the conference kick-off.
CPI Steering Committee Chair Steven Snead-Smith gave his remarks before presenting CPI's inaugural Distinguished Leadership Award to Jim Chapman of Bayer MaterialScience, Jean Kasakevich of Dow, and Roy Pask of BASF.
The 2012 Innovation Award Finalists–Boral Composites, Huntsman and Reverdia–then presented their respective innovations: TrueExterior® Trim, VITROX® composite Resins, and Biosuccinium™.
Finally, ACC CEO & President Cal Dooley gave the keynote address, highlighting not only the 75th anniversary, but also the opportunities and challenges faced by the industry, particularly chemical regulation reform and energy policy.
