typical energy savings in a retrofit applicaiton?
What is a average percentage saved on energy bills when the roofdeck of an existing home is sprayed and existing insulation is removed from the ceiling floor, creating a nonvented attic system?

My personal experience is around 30-35%

I did a ceiling in a log cabin where the customer removed the filterglass and I sprayed 3" of CC. He distributed the filterglass around the attic again. We maintained the existing ventilation and he is claiming savings of 45 to 50%. This amounted to about a 3 year payback.

i removed double cross hatched r-19 batts (thats r-38 for those of you from loma linda)from a ~1400 sq ft flat lid,,,
i applied 10-12" gw OC foam down to the lid,,

i heat with nat gas,,,domestic h2o as well,,
in feb of 2008 my daily nat gas cost was $5.99
in feb of 2009 my daily nat gas cost was $3.01

that is a 49% reduction in cost

the 2009 billing period was 2 days longer,,,
the 2009 average temp was 6 degrees colder,,

now i know the nat gas price was more in 09 as well but i best be gettin that figure too eh??

now this 2x4 sidewall filter glass home is still infiltrating/exfiltrating well thru the sidewalls,,and i can only imagine what will happen when we do the sidewalls as well,,,

hope this helps
