Interesting Story
Got a new interesting story.

We sprayed the rim joist of an existing basement with 3" of closed cell foam. The owner came home that evening and went downstairs to check it out. He smelled gas and called the gas company. Ends up that the gas line had 3 different, small leaks in it. It had been leaking for who knows how long, but so much air was flowing through the rim joist that they never smelled it until it was foamed.

The law of unintended consequences. This time a good outcome. Remember that tightening up a building can cause household odors to linger longer.
