Fireplace flues
looking for suggestions on how to obtain a good seal around the flue. we are apprehensive to apply to this area,,even when 10' away from the fixture..
seems when we seal the lid,,the chimneys start to draw like crazy around the pip,,,right through the filterglass or smellulose...(aint the stact effect wonderful?)...

sure wish there was a "insulated universal boot" of sorts that would clamp arount the pipe invokeing a tight seal to which we could foam up to the boot...dare to dream..

hi ho hi ho its off to foam i go...

We spray within a couple of inches to it and then use the fire rated foam to seal the gap. The fire foam is orange and come in a can like great stuff.
