PEX tubing and spf
So what is the latest on spf in contact with pex tubing? A plumber at my site said that the manufactuer claimed that spf as a petroleum derivitive would deteriorate the tubing. is this true? I don't understand how polyurethane would damage pex but i would like to find a definitive answer as to weather i can spray against it or not.

Testing is underway (sponsored by SPFA), but results are not available yet. For the record, we don't believe there would be any chemical reaction, but there may be a exothermic heat reaction depending on how much temperature the pipe can take and how much exothermic heat is developed in the foam. For example, there are flexible pipes that can only withstand 180 degrees of heat without warping. SPF can easily exceed 200 degrees during application.

I'd really be interesting in knowing the answer to this...
