Foam directly on underside of unvented metal roof?
I have a job with an existing lean-to metal roof (20x12) on 2x4 battens on 2x6 rafters )pole barn style). Battens are at the eve ends and again at the wall (2x4) plate blocking. End result is to close in the lean-to as additional living space. We have been discussing the suitability of spraying directly onto the underside of the metal with 2-3" of CC and around the perimeter creating a non-vented cathedral type space. This would provide

1) Vapor barrier directly on metal.
2) Air barrier at metal seams and perimeter,
3) Reasonable insulation value.

Drywall on underside of rafters with optional fiberglass batt.

Any experience with this setup?

At first I poo-poo'ed the idea but after some thought, it looks like all of the requirements are met for a good roof/ceiling. Site is in Kentucky with both heating and cooling.

Thoughts?

I have not any experiences with this setup. You should meet with people in Kentucky who have such experiences. They can guide you in this regard. However it is a nice post.
