warranty for SPF roof
Anybody want to share their ideas about warranties.

Currently we offer a 10 year labor and materials non-prorated warranty for SPF with acrylic coating and 15 years with grannules.

Does anyone offer longer warranty or shorter?

Another idea I was thinking of was what about a 50 year warranty on the foam (i.e. forever) contingent upon getting a re-coat every 8-10 years? Is this risky or a great idea to secure repeat business?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Brian

DOW and GE silicone systems will warranty for 20 yrs. Most contractors will only warranty for 5-10 on systems they provide. Most warranty's are really issued by the material manufacture. Putting yourself out for 50 yrs is really risky, even with 8-10 yr re-coats. I would suggest you offer 10, and sell them on a maintenance service where you come out twice a year, inspect, do minor repairs, clean drains and gutters, take pictures of what you do and send them a report. When you get close to the end of the 'warranty' the reports should show that a re-coat is being suggested to extend the warranty.
