Prices
We are getting another round of cut-throat installers lately. One person quoted $2.00 per sf installed for 3" of 2 pound foam in a 2x4 wall on a house that has a roof deck at nearly 30' high and almost no room to move in numerous places. Then another contractor said that he could do it for half of that guys price by quoting the job over the phone without needing to look at it. Not sure which one ended up getting the job, nor do I really care.

Then the local foam supplier got a "good deal" on a few truck loads of expired winter foam and is selling it for a couple hundred dollars less per set. I have seen this foam used on a few houses now. It sticks out like a soar thumb as it is clearly setting up way too quickly. It's one thing to spray it at say 70 degrees, it's another to spray it at 90+.

Is this same kind of stuff happening everywhere? Hopefully it doesn't take a whole year for these guys to close up shop, but I have a feeling it will. Cheaper Cheaper Cheaper.

Ranting done.
