since adoption of appendix x,,
is nfpa 275 an accepted fire study over plastic insulation material??
inquireing minds need to know,,,

You are mixing up two different tests. Appendix X describes a test used to qualify ignition barriers to be used in attics and crawlspaces. This is in the ICC-ES Acceptance Criteria for SPF, AC377. NFPA 275 is a test method used to qualify thermal barriers (like gypsum board) to be used on the interior side of a wall or ceiling separating the foam plastics from the interior of a building. It combines two tests. One is the time/temperature test of ASTM E119 or UL 263. The second is to determine if the thermal barrier can stay in place. Those can be NFPA 286, FM 4880, UL 1040 or UL 1715.

NFPA 275 has just been written into the IRC and IBC as the test method used to qualify thermal barriers. The test methods didn't change, just the wording has been clarified in the code.
