Pex Tubing
In our area a high percentage of homebuilders are going to Pex. I know there has been issues about spraying the foam on it. I have also visited other contractor sites and noticed pex encased in the foam. Has there been an ok to do so? Or has there been a crafty way to get around it?

The SPFA is conducting research as we speak on the use of SPF on plastic pipe. I will post results of the testing as soon as the information is available. Chemically I know of no reaction using either open or closed cell foam. However, exothermic heat can build up when using closed cell SPF, so make your lifts around the pipe 1" or less then wait for the heat to dissipate before applying the next lift. Ask your supplier for their recommendations.
