ignition barrier
Hi Mason,

I am quoting a job for an attic(commercial building) that has no floor. Just fiberglass held in place by strapping. So i planned on creating a floor by using 1/2" foil faced poly iso boards, cut to width, then spraying 2" closed cell for air sealing and reinstalling fiberglass. ( Yes that will suck)Question is will there need to be an ignition barrier on the foil that is facing the interior of the building? There is a 5 foot gap between the suspended ceiling and foil faced board stock.

Thanks

Yes you will need a thermal barrier over the foil faced iso board. The foil is not a thermal barrier and any foam insulation requires it in interior applications
