Closed vs. Open Cell under house
6 years ago, my insulation contractor sprayed under the house with open cell. I've been doing some research and it seems this should have been done with closed cell.

What is the difference? Should I try to make him remove the open cell and respray it with closed cell?

Where do you live? How high is your crawlspace? I wouldn't tear it out as it's acceptable for under crawlspaces. We've used it many times and even did very tight crawlspaces with only about 12" of clearance to the ground. We always used open cell because it's still an air barrier, it insulates better, it's less expensive and less risk of starting a fire.

open cell foam to fill the subfloor would be ok with me too...
now the crawl walls and slab on grade need cc for sure..no oc here...
