Ceiling or Roof deck
Hi Mason ,

I was just reading an article that you wrote about CC foam in the
attic. I'm curious as to what you meant. The article states that
adding 3
inches of cc SPF to the ceiling in my house and not to the underside
of
my roof will cut down on heat loss. My question is , will this not put
pressure onto the drywall, and possibly pop the drywall screws from
the ceiling. Or would you spray SPF directly to the roof deck instead.
And how much?

Thanks..

Kevin...

I am not sure of the question. but, spraying foam to the underside of the roof deck is more energy efficient than spraying the floor of the attic. I sprayed the floor of my attic with SPF only because building codes in my area at the time did not allow unvented attics. No, it does not cause nail pops in the drywall. It did however, provide a walking surface in the attic. (I sprayed over the studs as well)
