Dear Pros,New homeowner here. Any help you can give me is appreciated. I want to use closed-cell foam in my walls. I just posted about finding a contractor, now to ask about brands of foam they use. Say I find two contractors I feel good about, one uses Biobased and the other uses Icynene. How do I choose between them? From what I've been reading, it seems like it's more important to have a well-trained operator and that brand of foam is less important. Still, I'm trying to choose based on all the information I can get. Thanks for your help, Andrew |

If you have confidence in the contractor installer, then you should have confidence in the material he uses. A good 245fa blown closed cell will have an R-value of 6.5- 7 per inch. A water based closed cell will be about 25% less. |
