Spray Foam Magazine – Spring Issue 2025 – Doug Kramer is the founder, President, and CEO of PolyCon, a spray foam manufacturer and supplier. With 37 years of experience in the industry, Kramer remains as enthusiastic about it as he was when he first began. To understand his passion for PolyCon, Spray Foam Magazine spoke with him about what makes the company special and how experience and loyalty are embedded in its culture.
Kramer’s list of industry accolades reads like a Night at the Oscars. From one successful enterprise to another, his expertise in foam and the foam business is unmatched. PolyCon was launched in 2024 and currently employs 30 individuals, 90% of whom have worked with Kramer over the years and share similar industry goals and visions. This familiarity minimized teething problems, as both the employees and Kramer understood each other’s skills and dynamics, giving them an immediate advantage.
This cohesive knowledge base has also allowed PolyCon to develop high-quality products, including spray foam, elastomeric roof coatings, and significantly enhanced customer service abilities. “My commitment to the industry, and specifically our loyal customers, is my passion and my daily drive. During my career, we were the first to develop and commercialize HFO foams and set a new standard for customer support. No matter how large PolyCon becomes, we never want to lose that small company dynamic—from outstanding customer service to continuous innovation,” confirms Kramer.
PolyCon has quickly made an impact on the market and the name has already become synonymous with quality and service. PolyCon is based in Houston, Texas and features a fully automated, state of the art manufacturing facility, along with a team of experienced chemists and industry professional staff. Every product made by PolyCon undergoes third-party testing, and the company only sells products that have passed these tests.
The facility itself is audited regularly, with credential agencies visiting to ensure product compliance. PolyCon’s ultimate vision focuses on client satisfaction. “We aim to be the easiest company in the industry to work with. We understand that product consistency from drum to drum is crucial for our customers. They face enough variables in the field, such as temperature, humidity levels, and equipment differences. Therefore, product reliability eliminates one major variable to help ensure the contractors satisfaction level and project profitability,” explains Kramer.
Additionally, customers have a full-time service team available to them 24/7 for phone support and field service. PolyCon offers hands-on training classes at their facility and plans to introduce the SPFA Professional Certification Program (PCP) soon.
The combined experience of the PolyCon team allows them to understand the challenges their clients encounter, and they have integrated this knowledge into their business model. Recognizing these challenges is one thing, but embedding this understanding into the culture of the company sets them apart.
From their customer service to their team of field technicians, there is no doubt that by combining the PolyCon team’s wealth of industry understanding with a commitment to being the best for their clients, the industry will be hearing a lot more from PolyCon.
