Spray Foam Magazine – Spring 2025 – Since the start of the year, Spray Foam Magazine has been on the lookout for family ties within the SPF industry. We want to hear from mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandparents, married couples, and multi-generations that work together so that we can publish your story. This article marks the first story in a series called “All in the Foamily.”

We kick it off with a couple whose partnership is making a significant impact in the SPF business. What happens when two industry experts join forces? This is not a story about mergers or acquisitions; rather, it is a story about the power of love and its positive impact on business. It is the story of Chelsea and Aaron Meissner.

Chelsea serves as the Southeast Regional Spray Foam Sales Representative at UPC and has been in the SPF industry for 15 years, while Aaron works as a Field Technical Support for UPC, part of the General Coatings family. Their paths crossed naturally, reflecting a great representation of collaboration in the industry. 15 years ago, Chelsea was a young mother searching for purpose. Looking for a part-time job to get out of the house, she was invited by one of her best friends, who owned a spray foam rig-building company, to join their team. Chelsea, being enthusiastic and personable, started by answering office phones. She quickly became captivated by the foam industry and immersed herself in sales, marketing, equipment, rigs, training, and, of course, foam.

After gaining experience with her friend’s company, she moved on to pursue a new opportunity at a national foam distribution company, where she worked in the rigs, equipment, and parts department, selling rigs, managing products, and educating potential customers about investing in spray foam rigs. This is where she first met Aaron, who happened to be working at this company too. Aaron’s journey to foam was slightly different. He had various jobs before ultimately landing in the industry. “I never imagined following in my father’s footsteps into the spray foam industry,” he explains, “But once I sprayed for the first time, I was hooked.”

Aaron began working at various companies in Texas, spraying everything from trailers and deer blinds to large commercial roofs. Eventually, he took on a role as a field technician for a large distribution company, which evolved into a technical and training manager position before he joined UPC. Chelsea was initially drawn to Aaron’s smile and energy, particularly how he treats others. “I quickly saw that he truly cares for this industry and the people in it. He loves and works hard and has a heart of gold. I also fell for his famous dance moves and his ability to light up a room,” Chelsea laughs.

With more years of experience under her belt across contracting, distribution, equipment, and manufacturing, Chelsea now had a comprehensive understanding of the industry from various angles. At this point in the story, the couple both transitioned to a new company—UPC.

UPC was founded on quality, integrity and family values and has grown from humble beginnings to become a trusted name in the industry.

“Making the move together to UPC was a blessing as they share our core values, which are very family-oriented. I appreciate the flexibility to work from home and travel as needed, as that balance is crucial given our long hours,” she says. Chelsea also strongly believes that the Lord and her abilities/talents to genuinely want people to succeed, has played a large role in her success. As well as the many wonderful relationships with industry professionals both her and Aaron have built along the way.

The couple work off each other’s strengths and weaknesses and help each other fill the gap when needed. “The chemistry we have flows to other parts of our business. We always try to do the right thing, be honest people, and put our customers first and help them be successful,” confirms Chelsea. “It’s a blessing to work with him every day; he is my best friend.” When they left their previous employment, they took their time and according to Chelsea, “Let the Lord guide us to where we needed to go and when it would happen. We knew UPC was the right fit for us at this time in our lives almost immediately after meeting with them. It felt right. They had the same path and vision as us.”

Aaron fell in love with both UPC and Chelsea. “The quality of UPC products was a significant factor in my decision to work here. As an SPF teacher, I have a unique ability to relate to people and provide training that enhances their skill set, ultimately benefiting the company’s profitability,” Aaron explains.

“Chelsea captured my heart with her hair, smile, and eyes. We’ve been together for nearly five years. I adore both Chelsea’s and UPC’s strong family values, as well as their unwavering support and generosity. I’ve never worked with a happier group of people,” Aaron shares. He adds, “Chelsea is truly an amazing wife, and her ability to be a mother blows me away.”

Even though Chelsea makes an effort to keep work talk off the table during date nights, foam inevitably sneaks into their conversations. Together, she and Aaron enjoy bouncing around ideas and solutions—not just for their business, but for the industry as a whole. Both working from home, they jokingly say their world revolves around foam.

“Our kids know all about foam,” Chelsea says with a smile. “Since our customers operate at all hours, we’ve learned to stay flexible and available. I focus on sales while Aaron handles the technical side and travel. It’s a partnership that really works for us. We’re a team, aligned and driven by shared goals.”

This work-life flexibility, combined with Aaron’s intuitive skills and ability to read people and social situations, has helped them navigate the industry together. Aaron’s family ties run deep in this industry, with his father, Dennis Meissner, having over 50 years of experience. “I feel blessed to say that we’ve had the opportunity to teach multiple roofing classes together. I believe a couple of our boys may eventually join us in this field,” he concludes.

Chelsea‘s son Tucker Whitley is next in the family to enter the spray foam business with some tips from step-dad Aaron.

Chelsea loves the work that she and Aaron do each day. She says, “The ability to serve and help others with their businesses and see them grow is amazing. It’s incredible to see people we introduced to the spray foam business thriving ten years later and expanding their fleets. This industry is very rewarding, and the relationships we build last a lifetime; these folks feel like family to us.”

Do they ever disagree about work and the industry issues, and who wins the argument if they do? Aaron laughs, “She wins, always.”

The couple cherishes their love story, especially the fact that they were introduced to each other by someone they both met through the industry. “It was ultimately the industry that brought us together. I am so proud of Chelsea and the woman she is, both inside and outside our home,” Aaron shares.

Both Chelsea and Aaron recognize how the industry has provided them with opportunities they never could have dreamed of. “It has given us the ability to pursue a beautiful life that we are proud of. If we keep the faith and put the Lord at the forefront, He will open so many doors. God has been so faithful; we have experienced many ups and downs, but we can say it was all worth it. Thank you to all the mentors and people who have believed in us and supported us throughout the years,” Chelsea expresses. Aaron and Chelsea are both very happy where they are right now. They feel blessed and can’t wait to see what the future holds. They are thankful for every job they have held in this industry which has played a crucial role to their success.

Aaron concludes the interview by saying, “I just want to extend my gratitude for the opportunity to share our story. We are family, and the industry and the people in it are like family to us. I can’t thank everyone enough for their support and encouragement. To everyone reading this, the world is better with you in it. Keep your head up, keep praying, and keep growing.”
